One thing that gets old REAL quick is some of the writing for children’s books. I know, I know, it has to be kept simple to engage the kid and not overwhelm his tiny squirrel brain. But after reading the same nonsense over and over, I find that you need to mix it up from time to time to keep your freaking sanity. Plus, it’s more of an incentive to read to the kid when you know it can be fun for Dad too. Once he starts being able to process a bit more, I’ll have to tone it back, but this helps me unleash a little of my silliness and keep the kid entertained at the same time.
