The Daddy: Hard to believe it’s already been a year since we started this mess.
The Momma: I know, right? A whole year of sharing all the craziness of parenting…how’d we find the time?
D: I’m not sure we did. I know I personally was hoping to have more on the site, promote more, have a better layout, all that stuff. I just never was able to make it happen.
M: Well, I’m still happy with what we’ve done. And let’s be honest, it’s not like this is our ONLY baby or anything.
D: True. You’d think most people would understand that having a kid means you’ll end up having LESS time to do anything else, and yet we went ahead and added an entire website with weekly updated content in ADDITION to both of our respective websites and jobs. And now that I think of it that way, it IS kind of insane that it ended up in its current state of completeness.
M: Well, I think we should celebrate making it a year, what about you?
D: Sounds great, did you have something in mind?
M: I DID, in fact (shocking I know). I think we should reward…uh, THANK…one of our readers for sticking with us this year. Maybe offer them a small little token of our affection, that may make them chuckle as they think about parenthood.
D: Say, that’s a spectacular idea! (Not sure when we got into infomercial mode, but I love it!) Tell me more!

M: Thank you for coming along with us on this journey. We hope we make you laugh sometimes, feel like you’re not the only one sometimes, and hey if nothing else, make you feel like you’re at least doing better than the two of us on occasion. It wouldn’t be fun to do this without people to read it, so thanks for a year of reading our stuff.
D: Yes, this has been fun to make and update, but the cooler thing has been that we haven’t just been yelling into the void, and that we’re not the only ones feeling this way half the time. Many thanks and we hope you’ve enjoyed the ride with us.

I’m commenting to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY but I really don’t think I should be entered to win since I already won the totally awesome original family portrait! My Calvinist upbringing would make me feel too guilty.

Happy Blogoversary! (Yes, that’s a real word.) It’s amazing how quickly the year flies by (and amazing the people you meet online), isn’t it? I look forward to reading another year of Noodleknobs. (And a few more years after that.)
Your Noodle is about the same age as my little monster. I draw much strength from knowing that you all are experiencing much of the same and you help me keep a good sense of humor about the kid. Happy Anniversary and congratulations on all of your hard work!
Hooray for one year! I just wanted to use my comment to gush about how much I love reading here because EVERY post leaves me reading bits to Chris and saying “yes, OMG, all of this!” Great job guys. And now I must run because my soon to be 2-year old just ran into the room nude yelling “potty in my potty? Potty in my pants?” Seems like I should do something about that….
Not only are your posts spot on, but as a graphic designer myself, i ALWAYS look forward to the comic portion, i am in awe of your talents.
My husband and I both get the thread sent to our email, so after work we’re always like “Did you see the latest noodle knob?” it’s funny/scary how many people go through the EXACT same things with their kids…so Happy Anniversary, don’t ever stop what your doing, there are a lot of us out there who look forward to the next post!!!
